SkyPvP is a Free For All pvp game with persistent progression where players fight on floating islands, gather loot from loot boxes across the islands and avoid getting knocked off into the void. It is one of the most well-known games on Ultimis.
This is the first game that I have been individually tasked to create and maintain back when I first joined the Ultimis Dev Team in April 2021. I still solely maintain the game to this day.
Here's some of the features currently present in the game:
Loot boxes (aka Mystery Boxes) are little floating mystery looking cubes that are spread across islands and drop an item based on chance once right clicked or hit with a projectile. There are currently 4 types of loot boxes:
Each lootbox contain a unique set of items, with each type increases the rarity and potency of these items.
(GIF recorded in the dev server. Rare lootbox excluded)Custom Items are regular minecraft items but with different and custom functionalities.
Adding custom items to SkyPvP was always an idea I had lingering in the back of my mind, but I wasn't sure if the idea would be a useful addition to the game or just something that would start to collect dust a couple days after it is added. I proposed the idea of adding custom items to the staff team and after some discussions, we have decided to introduce the following two custom items into SkyPvP Season 6 update:
Enchant Station allows players to upgrade their own Enchanting Table by unlocking the surrounding bookshelves. This can be done through a UI where it displays the exact layout of a fully upgraded enchanting table; in other words, an enchanting table at the center and 15 bookshelves surrounding it.
When a player clicks the enchant table item at the center of the GUI as seen in the image, a virtual vanilla enchant table UI will open and the unlocked bookshelves will be applied as if they were placed around it.
In addition to Enchant Station, players can collect XP in a relatively unique way... There is a room on the Mushroom Island with a "Spigot" inside (It's a tripwire hook technically since it is the closest to looking like a Spigot) where XP drops from. Initially the XP Spigot is clogged and the period between each orb droplet is annoyingly slow! To fix this, the player has to hire a Plumber (there is an NPC next to the room named 'Plumber') to try and fix the clog issue in exchange for a fee.
That's it for this project. There are a lot more features and bug fixes I have worked on behind the scenes. This is merely a brief overview of the project.
